About Me
Onyinye N. Chukwunyerewa
LL.B, BL, MA, Dip. Crim. & Forensic
Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public
Ms. Onyinye N. Chukwunyerenwa began her legal career in Nigeria where she obtained her LLB and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar before transitioning to Canada. With over 20+ years of business and legal experience, she has worked in various legal capacities, including as a Legal Officer in Nigeria and later as a practitioner in Family and Immigration law in Canada.
She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and certifications in Criminology, Forensic Psychology, and Canadian Immigration Consultancy. Ms. Chukwunyerenwa is a strong advocate for social issues globally and is the co-author of the best-selling book, “Tear the Veil”. She is dedicated to combating injustices and promoting positive change.
Ms. Chukwunyerenwa left Nigeria and migrated to Ireland to join her husband in 2003. While in Ireland, the family lived in different Counties including Dublin. In 2012, the family moved to Dallas, Texas and in 2013, they immigrated to Canada. As an Immigrant herself, who has lived amongst diverse cultures in multiple countries, Ms. Chukwunyerenwa understands the plights of Immigrants. She experienced firsthand all the challenges faced by Immigrants including systemic racism, stereotypes, and lack of support for Immigrant professionals.
These experiences made an impact and made her respect and honor the journey that immigrants face when they decide to move from a place and country that is familiar to a place and country that is entirely new. She wanted to help other Immigrants, to ensure they do not go through her own struggles and challenges. Hence, she took the diploma program in Immigration consultancy from Ashton College, Vancouver, after which she operated her own Immigration Consultancy Firm. However, Ms. Chukwunyerenwa decided to get her Canadian Law Qualification because to her, learning and knowing the law was very empowering.
She knew that understanding and knowing the Canadian legal system would help her to empower other immigrants who are also faced with the enormous challenges and possibilities opened to them by moving to a new and unfamiliar country.
“This has become my driving daily passion. I am committed to creating the type of law firm that makes immigrants feel accepted, honored, empowered. A law firm that supports clients in their immigration journey, helping them achieve their immigration goals and looks beyond just a “case” or “another application” but rather at the individual or the individuals for whom we handle the case for.
I want to continue to say to Immigrants, “regardless of your journey, you are not alone”!
